Native Plant Identification (1 day workshop)

This workshop is part of the 2012 Bushcare Volunteer Training Program

The Native Plant Identification workshop focuses on botany basics and then looks at the major plant families of the Sydney basin including Proteaceae, Fabaceae, Mimosaceae, Rutaceae, Ericaceae, Ericaeae, (Epacriodaceae) and Poaceae.

This course includes theory in the morning, where participants will work through the key features of each of these families and the afternoon in the field where we will go looking for examples of each of the families. We will use ‘Robbo’ in the field, encouraging participants to gain confidence with this great resource, and with their identification skills. A training booklet will be provided by NSI for participants to read and work through prior to the training session.

This is a one (1) day workshop but there is a choice of two dates. On Saturday 18thAugust the workshop will be held in the Michael Maher Room at the Haberfield Centre, 78 Dalhousie St. Haberfield,  from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

This GreenWay Bushcare Training Workshop is free. Places are limited and a Bushcare training application form must be submitted. Preference will be given to active GreenWay volunteers.
