GreenWay Environmental Art Commission
Leichhardt Council and the GreenWay Program are seeking expressions of interest from professional artists for a $35,000 environmental art commission. The project is being funded by a grant to Leichhardt Council from the Environmental Trust funded Greenway Sustainability Project which concluded in late 2012.
This exciting commission will result in a prominent artwork being installed along the GreenWay, most likely at Canal Road, Leichhardt, near Canal Road Film Studio and popular Blackmore Oval. The intention is that the commissioned piece will be the first major art work on the GreenWay Sculpture Trail.
"Intersect invites designs for environmental artworks which create linkages between disparate disciplines (eg. environmental protection/management, arts and cultural practice, community safety, stormwater and parks): therefore reflecting the multi-use and dimensional quality of the GreenWay," Leichhardt Council's Place Making Officer, Bronwyn Tuohy said.
Expressions of Interest are sought by 14 July via
