Light Rail running

After years of lobbying the long awaited Inner West Light Rail is now up and running. The Light Rail will provide a much needed alternative means of public transport for local residents, students, workers and visitors and will hopefully ease traffic congestion in the area.

GreenWay stakeholders have been working closely with neighbouring Councils and Transport for NSW throughout the planning and construction of the Light Rail, with a particular focus on the new paths, landscaping, lighting, street furniture and public art which are being installed to enhance pedestrian and cycle access to the stops. We are continuing to lobby for the construction of additional sections of the Greenway shared path which was deferred by the State Government in 2012.
