To mark National Tree Day, Inner West Council is giving away free trees to residents.
The tree giveaway will be held at Rozelle Bay Community Nursery on Sunday, 29 July, 10am-1pm.
The trees are in advanced containers and include small, medium and large size native species such as Banksia, Native Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Callistemon, and Lilly Pilly.
There is a limit of one tree per household, Inner West Council residents only.
Last year, Council gave away 300 trees, which will contribute to the Inner West's local biodiversity and urban canopy for years to come.
As well as the tree giveaway, Council is hosting community planting days:
• Sunday, 15 July, Richard Murden Reserve, Haberfield, 10am-12noon
• Sunday, 29 July, Whites Creek Valley Park, Annandale, 10am-12noon
• Sunday, 5 August, Tempe Reserve, Tempe, 10am-12noon
For more information and to register, go to www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/nationaltreeday.
Council will supply gloves, trowels and other tools. Bring your own water bottle and wear closed shoes and a hat.
